INTRODUCTION
...Then Moses spoke and the voice of G-D answered him. | Exodus 19:16-19

From the first use of the word "shofar", we find that the shofar is a signal of the presence of YHWH Elohim that causes the people to tremble. This is their emotional response. After the emotional response, we see that there is an action response. The action is the drawing near to YHWH Elohim. These two responses should always flow from the sound of the shofar.
