The Teacher in you

Introduction

Teaching is one of the most important tasks for the Body of the Messiah. In order to become the vassal containing the right information, we need to compare our beliefs with the teaching inside the Torah. It is important to notice that the teaching that leads others to follow us is wrong; our teachings should lead others to Yeshua to help them "trust and obey" the commandments of G-d.
Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

Two different words: Salvation and Eternal life

7/17/2019

By Jonah Doctura | 2018

Introduction

Salvation is provided through Yeshua the Messiah solely upon the basis of his atoning sacrifice - His grace declared across on the cross - and not upon any attempt of man by any means whereby we might hope to attain Elohim's standard of righteousness (Torah).

There is a difference between having the eternal life and possessing it. The promise of everlasting life can be dispossessed away from us, if we don't keep the commandments of G-d.
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Idioms on my mind

7/16/2019

By Jonah Doctura | 2018

Introduction

Idioms are expressions that cannot be understood by their literal meaning.
To avoid the things we are being mislead on daily preachings, we need to understand the Biblical idioms.
We can just imagine the idioms that were then, two thousands years ago, that have changed along the way, and became into this. And once you come across with certain phrases and passages, the teaching may be misleading.
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Tithes and Sensibilities

7/11/2019

By Jonah Doctura | 2018

Introduction

The Mosaic Covenant had two tithes linked to the 7-year time cycle:
The first tithe is for the levites. It is to be given to them and no one else. They in turn, gave a tenth of their tithe to the High Priest and the sons of Aaron (the priests).
The first tithe could be converted into money if one paid a twenty percent penalty. This tithe went to the Levites so they could devote themselves to studying Torah and then to teach what they had learned to the people.

The second tithe was used to finance the Israelites' three annual pilgrimage festivals (Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacle) to the place where YHWH had placed His name.
For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. Indeed I [g]have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Yeshua, a Pharisee?

Introduction

Why Yeshua was called a Rabbi?
He studied the Hebrew alphabet from a very young age. At 14th, he studied the Torah and by the time of 12, he memorized it all as he showed when he made his presentation at the Temple for his bar-mitzvah.

Yeshua studied like a rabbi, reading also the Mishna and Talmud. At age 30, he started his ministry and followed only the Torah. By this time he became a rabbi. It is important to notice that his ministry started at age 30 and lasted at least 10 years or so.
“I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, [i]is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”

Clean and Unclean "or" Leaven

7/10/2019

By Jonah Doctura | 2018

Introduction

Clean. In Hebrew transliteration, "tahowr" meaning clean, fair, pure.

Unclean. In Hebrew transliteration, "tame" meaning contaminated, foul, defiled.

Un-Kosher. Yahweh wanted to make a difference between His people, Israel and the pagan nations around them who gathered the harvest in their temples and them offered a kid boiled in its mother's milk to their pagan gods. He wanted them not to learn the way of the heathen (Jeremiah 10:2) and adopt it in there time of bringing in the tithes of the harvest.
How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?--but to beware of the [e]leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the [f]doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Centricity of Torah in the life of the Master

7/10/2019

By Jonah Doctura | 2018

Introduction

Is Yeshua's life and teaching Torah-centric?
Many are saying Jesus did it, so we don't have to do anything...Is this true?

Yeshua was circumcised
Yeshua was baptized (performed the Mikveh) at 30 years old
Yeshua wore tzitzit
Yeshua observed the Sabbath
Yeshua showed compassion to the multitudes
Yeshua kept the Biblical Feasts

He didn't come to destroy but to complete. If we are His disciples, we should do the same deeds as He did.
And when eight days were completed [g]for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.

It's nobody's date but Heavenly Father's!

Introduction

The Sabbath is actually the sign of the covenant with the One who created us. And it is more than that...

The children of Israel shall guard the Sabbath throughout their generations; it is an everlasting covenant. It should not be mistaken for Sunday. The seventh day starts from sunrise to sunrise.

It is also an everlasting covenant between God and His people. This is our sign!

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The Master's marching order

Introduction

The way we were taught during our Christian days is totally different from we are learning here. It is amazing that people in the Churches teach the opposite of the truth. But is becoming a reality that the Lord is trying to pull His people to come out from the circle of pretends and deceit people in a sense, so that can it transform us into unity and harmony with the One who created us.
And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I [a]bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

They were never two houses but one

Introduction

According to Paul's teaching, a Gentile is one who is without Yeshua messiah. He was speaking to the proselytes, newly converted and in the same assembly with the Jews.

It is important to always remember the New Testament was not completed in the moment that Paul taught this. He always spoke from the perspective of the Tanakh, also known as the Old Testament.

This is what happens when a Gentile embraces the Torah; they become a citizen of the nation of Israel and a participant of the Covenant of the Promise.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
