BY RICHARD SISON | 2017INTRODUCTION Ḥanukkah is a Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple (the Second Temple) in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire. Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar. It is also known as the Festival of Lights and the Feast of Dedication. The name "Hanukkah" derives from the Hebrew verb "חנך", meaning “to dedicate". On Hanukkah, the Maccabean Jews regained control of Jerusalem and rededicated the Temple. The name can be broken down into חנו כה, "[they] rested [on the] twenty-fifth", referring to the fact that the Jews ceased fighting on the 25th day of Kislev, the day on which the holiday begins. BY Jonah Doctura | 2017The celebration of Sukkot is stipulated in Leviticus 23:33-44. This Feast is observed on the 15th of Tishrei and celebrated for eight days. The first and last days are special Sabbaths (v. 35-36). Sukkot is one of the appearance Feasts mentioned in Exo 23: 14-17 and Deut 16:16. It is a Feast of great celebration. Many believed that this could be the time when Yeshua was born. Luke recorded that Joseph brought his wife Mary to Bethlehem during the time of first census (Luke 2:2-5). Joseph could not have brought his about-to-give-birth-wife just for census but most specially to appear before the L-RD as required in Exo 23:14-17 and Deut 16:16. We have to understand that Joseph was a righteous man (Matt 1:19) and the definition of a righteous man is keeping the commandments of G-D and the requirements of the L-RD (Luke 1:6). Yeshua being born in a manger (Luke 2:7) has nothing to do with being humble but in His birth, He observed the commandment to live in booths during this Feast (Lev 23:42). Another clue as to why He might had been born on this Feast is because of the name given to Him in Isaiah 7:14. He shall be called Immanuel, meaning G-D with us. The theme of the Feast of Tabernacle is "G-D with us" or "G-D tabernacles with us". This Feast will also be observed in the coming millennial kingdom Zech 14:16-19 and those who refuses to do will be punished. Watch the Message >> BY RICHARD SISON | 2017INTRODUCTION Day of Atonement is the most sacred and the holiest of all the Feasts. This is observed on the 10th of Tishrei, 10 days after Yom Teruah (Lev 23:26-32). This is the only Feast that requires fasting has a severe punishment of death penalty for those who violates it (v. 29-30). During this Feast, the L-RD requires a complete rest as it is a Shabbat Shabbaton or a Sabbath of the Sabbaths. The theme for this Feast is "judgment" for the enemies of G-D and also "atonement" His people. Literally, kippurim means covering in Hebrew. Although it was first instituted officially in Leviticus, it may had been celebrated in the ancient times. Many believed that the first Yom Kippur was in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve sinned against G-D and they were judged (Gen 3:14-19) and the L-RD made the first covering from the animal's skin, thus it is dubbed us the "yom kippur" or "day of covering" and the saddest day in human history. This is also the "Yom" or the "Day" that the L-RD will save His people Israel as a nation (Zech 12:10; 13:8-9; Rom 11:25-26). Yeshua said when He was about to enter Jerusalem in Matt 23:39 "Barukh haba B 'Shem Adonai ", which means "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the L-RD". It is also the 7th New Moon. In relation to our modern calendar, it is between September and October. Leviticus 23:23-25 mentioned that this day is a Shabbathown, a Hebrew word which means "a great or solemn Sabbath". English translation, in many instances, removes the significance of the original Hebrew word and it is simply translated as "rest". During this time, the kings of Israel like David and Solomon was crowned as king. The theme of this Feast is about the "call to return of the workers from the field" and also the "crowning of King of kings or the Messiah". The significance of this Feast is that it is believed to be the appearance of Yeshua when He comes back in great glory. Yeshua Himself prophesied about this in Matt 24:31 when the Great Trumpet will be sounded and His people will be gathered from the four winds. Paul was never silent about this either. He mentioned this in 1 Cor 15:52 and 1 Thes 4;16-17. Even apostle John prophesied this in Revelation 11:15 and prophet Isaiah in Isa 27:13. It is counted fifty days from Feast of First Fruit and will always fall on the first day of the week. The present rabbinical practice pegged it on a permanent date but the Levitical practice is different. This Feast is also a special Sabbath and one of the appearance Feasts requiring men of Israel to appear before the L-RD (Exodus 23:14-17). The other appearance Feasts are Unleavened Bread and Sukkot or Feast of Tabernacle (Deut 16:16). Before Yeshua ascended to Heaven, He instructed His disciples to stay in Jerusalem and wait for the promise from the Father (Acts 1:4). The Book of Acts recorded that Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) came on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). The giving of the Ten Commandments and the rest of the Torah was on Shavuot or Pentecost (Exodus chapters 19 and 20). Jeremiah prophesied that the Torah (Law) will be written in the hearts of the people. It is not a coincidence that Ruach Hakodesh came on G-D's Appointed Feast and just in the same date when the Torah was given to Moses 1,500 earlier. Four of the seven Feasts have been fulfilled right on the same day of G-D's Appointed Time. What do you think will happen on the next three? Watch the Message >> BY Jonah Doctura | 2017INTRODUCTION The L-RD's redemptive plan and the timing are laid out in the Appointed Feasts of the L-RD as stipulated in Leviticus 23 and other passages. It is very important to know these Feasts and to commemorate them so that we will understand His will for us. He did not set these special days only to be revoked and replaced. He commanded us to observe them for our own benefit. Watch the Message >> BY Jaime Noriega | 2017INTRODUCTION This Feast is celebrated on the 14th of Nisan. Since the Hebrew people are using Lunar calendar and we are using Solar calendar, the exact time of this Feasts changes between March and April. Paul stated in 1 Cor 5:7 that Yeshua is our Passover who was sacrificed for us. This is a direct and the clearest declaration coming from the apostle. John the Baptist called Yeshua as the Lamb of G-D who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29, 36). Passover was clearly instituted before the tenth plague that hit the Egyptians before the Israelites were allowed to leave Egypt. G-D instructed Moses and Aaron in Exodus 12:1-13 to sacrifice an unblemished male lamb, a year old (v. 5) and to kill it at twilight (v.6). Take note that the reckoning of day among the Hebrew people starts at the sundown of the day before. Part of the directive was to take some blood and put it in the door post and on the lintel of the house (v.7). They shall eat the lamb meat roasted, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs (v.8). The account has been recorded in the biblical book of Esther (known as Megillat Ester in Hebrew). The Book of Esther described Haman, a royal adviser to King Ahasuerus (known to be Xerxes I of Persia) planned and attempted to obliterate all the Jews in the empire, but his plans were foiled by Mordecai and his adopted daughter Esther who had risen to become Queen of Persia. The supposed day of extermination became the day of deliverance and was observed with feasting and rejoicing. Watch the Message >> BY RICHARD SISON | 2018INTRODUCTION During this time, the whole Jewish community from around the world celebrate Passover as a commemoration of their freedom for over 3 millennia from being slaves in ancient Egypt that led to the birth of the nation of Israel under the leadership of Moses. Passover commemorates the story on how G-D judged the the Egyptians, the enemy of His people, as described in the Hebrew Bible, by killing all the first-born sons among the Egyptians and their livestock. This monumental event caused the people of the L-RD to be freed from the bondage of slavery and was led to the promise land. Since Yeshua is our Passover, we have a perfect hope. The Bible alludes Passover as our blessed hope. Let us examine the following verses, to wit: 1. Preparation of table in the midst of the enemies (Psa 23:5) 2. Observance of Passover in Millennial kingdom (Eze 45:21) 3. Sitting/Reclining with the Patriarchs - Mat 8:11 “And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down [Gk. anaklino - to lean back] with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.” 4. Called from the four winds to “sit down” in the Kingsdom (Luke 13:24-30) 5. Attending the Great Banquet (Matt 22:1-14; Luke 14:15-24) 6. Celebrating passover in G-D’s kingdom - Mat 26:29 “But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.” (ref: Luke 22:18) 7. Invitation to the marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev 19:6-9) Watch the Message >> BY RICHARD SISON | 2018INTRODUCTION Purim means "lots", from the word “pur” is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire where a plot had been formed to destroy them.
