Introduction

The Presence of Yeshua in Every Chapter
Chapters 1-3 Yeshua was conveying His messages to His 7 Ekklesia
Chapter 4 Yeshua called out Yochanan (John) Rev 4:1 (refer to Rev 1:10)
Chapter 5 Yeshua is the Lamb (Rev 5:6)
Chapter 6 Yeshua is the one who breaks the seals
Chapter 7 Yeshua is the Allos Agellos w/ Seal (Rev 7:2)
Chapter 8 Yeshua is the Allos Agellos, the 8th Angel doing the High Priestly duties (Rev 8:3)
Chapter 9 Yeshua is commanding the angels (Rev 9:13)

In between the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah - 1st day of the 7th month) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) are 10 days, known as the Ten Days of Awe. These days begin with the blowing of the Shofar, the Feast of Trumpets, and conclude with Yom Kippur.

As part of Jewish practices, the shofar is sounded throughout the month of Elul. The blowing of the shofar on first of Tishri (i.e., Yom Teruah or also known as Rosh Hashanah) was sometimes called "the last trump" while the shofar blast 10 days after on Yom Kippur was called the "great trump", since at that time judgment was sealed.

Matt 24:31 mentioned about the "Great trumpet" when He will gather His elect
1 Cor 15:52 mentioned about "Last trumpet" when we will be changed.
The shofar was used for many purposes such as:
To receive the Commandments (Exo19:19-20).
To give a signal during time of war (Judges 3:27).
To proclaim the start of the Jubilee year (Lev. 25:9).
To anoint a new king during coronation (1 Kings 1:34).
To regather the outcasts of Israel (Isa. 27:13).
To warn the people of danger (Amos 3:6).
To declare the arrival of the Messiah (Zech. 9:14).

Introduction

Chet is the Hebrew name for eight. In this study we encounter many references related to chet, as follows:

A reference of “chet” or number 8 in this chapter is the number of the angels involved in the process. Take note that the Greek word used for “another” is “allos”, which also means “different” (angel) - see also Rev 7:2 “allos agellos” having the seal of the living G-D. We need to ask, who is this angel who performed duties as a High Priest.

Duties of the High Priest
  1. Had charge of the sanctuary and altar, Num. 18:2,5,7.
  2. To offer sacrifices, Heb. 5:1; 8:3.
  3. To designate subordinate priests for duty, Num. 4:19; 1 Sam. 2:36.
  4. To officiate in consecrations of Levites, Num. 8:11-21.
  5. To have charge of the treasury, 2 Kin. 12:10; 2 Chr. 24:6-14; 34:9.
  6. To light the lamps of tabernacle, Ex. 27:20; Lev. 24:3; Num. 8:3.
  7. To burn incense, Ex. 30:7,8; 1 Sam. 2:28; 1 Chr. 23:13.
  8. To place consecrated bread on the table every Sabbath, Lev. 24:8.
  9. Judicial, Num. 5:15; Deut. 17:8-13; 1 Sam. 4:18; Hos. 4:4;
  10. To number the people, Num. 1:3.
  11. Officiate at choice of ruler, Num. 27:18,19,21.
  12. Distribute spoils of war, Num. 31:26-29.

Another reference of the “chet” or number 8 is another Hebrew word for trumpet חצצרה) chătsôtserâh).
Rev 8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
What does sounding of trumpet means? Why do we sound the Trumpet?
When going to war against adversary who is oppressing G-D's people (Num 10:9)
The giving of the Torah (Exo 19:6)
During Yom Teruah (Lev 23:24)
Yom Kippur Jubilee (Lev 25:9)
To convene assemblies (Num 10:5-6)
Announce the New Moon and Jubilee year
To herald messages
Coronate kings
Military campaigns
During worship

Introduction

The number 7 has several representation as stated above. It deals with perfection or spiritual completeness. It also represents sword or strife a weapon, a “plow" or to be “cut-off”.

In verse 1 of chapter 7, we read that the four angels “cut-off” the wind to hurt the Earth and the sea. We can see here that the verse pertains to Hebraic numerical meaning of the passage.

The sealing of the servants of G-D also deals with “spiritual completion” of the people of the L-RD while verses 9-17 deals with the “resurrection” of the saints and our role in the coming new order of things.
The Great Multitude from the Tribulation
Revelation 7:9-17

Things to ponder:
1. This passage is a fast forward Rev 21 and 22
2. Many believers will die in the Great Tribulation
3. The identity of believers are retained in glorified body.
4. They are cloth in white robes relating to Rev 22:14
5. Palm branches are in their hands signifying Sukkot.
6. They shall hunger and thirst no more.
7. G-D shall wipe the tears in their eyes.

Introduction

Why is the book sealed seven times?
Number 7 was used 735 times (54 times in the book of Revelation alone). The number 7 is significant in G-D’s word. If we include with this count the word “sevenfold” (6) and “seventh” (119) are used, our total jumps to 860 instances.

The Bible, as a whole, was originally divided into 7 major divisions. They are 1) the Law; 2) the Prophets; 3) the Writings, or Psalms; 4) the Gospels and Acts; 5) the General Epistles; 6) the Epistles of Paul; and 7) the book of Revelation.

The number 7 also signifies the following:
  1. The 7 horns and
  2. The 7 eyes of the Lamb
  3. Representing the seven Spirits of G-D (Rev 5:6)
  4. Yeshua owning the 7 Ekklesia
  5. The 7 Annual Feasts (Appointed Times - Lev 23)
  6. Yeshua, the L-RD of the Sabbath
  7. The seven “I AM” in the Gospel of John
The 7 “I AM”:
  1. I am the Bread of Life (John 6:35)
  2. I am the Light of the World (John 8:12)
  3. I am the Gate (John 10:9)
  4. I am the Good Shepherd (John 10:11)
  5. I am the Resurrection And The Life (John 11:25-26)
  6. I am the Way, The Truth, And The Life (John 14:6)
  7. I am the Vine (John 15:5)

The Vision of Heaven Part 1

Introduction

This topic is part of the series discussing the Book of Revelation. In the previous topic, we discussed the message to the seven ekklesia (congregations) and why it was given to them. After Yochanan (John) received the messages, the scene changed in chapter 4 and he saw a vision of heaven.

The vision of Heaven has been the subject of curiosity of all humans. We all want to know what is up there. Many attempted to reach the heavens from ancient times with the construction of the tower of Babel "to reach the heaven" (Gen 11:4) to the present times with the joint space explorations of many advanced nations. What is really out there? Is there really a place called heaven? What is it and where is it?
10 Biblical Visions of G-D and Heaven
1. Jacob dreamed of "a ladder set up on earth, and the top of it reached to heaven... And, behold, the L-RD stood above it" (Gen 28:12-13)
2. Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel... saw the G-D of Israel (Ex 24:9-10). (Note: Nadab and Abihu were killed by the L-RD; Lev 10:1-3)
3. Moses saw the back of G-D (Ex 33:23)
4. Micaiah "saw the L-RD sitting upon His throne" (2 Chron. 18:18)
5. Isaiah "saw also the L-RD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple" (isa 6:1-4)
6. Ezekiel saw "the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of the sapphire stone: and...the likeness as the appearance of a man above it" (Ezekiel 1:26-10:1)
7. Daniel "beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit" (Dan 7:9)
8. Stephen "looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of G-D, and Jesus standing on the right hand of G-D" (Acts 7:55)
9. Paul wrote that he "knew a man" (likely himself), who was "caught up to the third heaven" (2 Cor 12:2)
10. John "was in the spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat in the throne" (Rev 4:2)

Introduction

The recipient of the this prophetic message were:

Ephesus (which means “desirable”) - the congregation that had forsaken its first love (2:4)
Smyrna (which means “sweet smelling,” like myrrh) - the congregation that would suffer persecution (2:10).
Pergamos (which means “elevation” or “exalted”) - the congregation that hold to the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans (2:14-15).
Thyatira (which means “sacrifice of contrition” or “sweet savor of labor”) - the congregation that had a false prophetess (2:20).
Sardis (which means “renewal”) - the congregation that had fallen asleep (3:2)
Philadelphia (which means “brotherly love”) - the congregation that had kept G-D’s word (3:10).
Laodicea (which means “judgment” or “judging the people”) - the congregation with the lukewarm faith (3:16).
The Summary of Messages

The desirable, sweet smelling exalted sacrifice of contrition is a renewal of brotherly love to pass judgment.
G-D knows your works.  Don’t lose your first love for G-D, that is to keep His commandments. Remain faithful in the face of tribulation and poverty. Resist Satan’s influence, even to death, if necessary. Resist false teachings. Remain zealous and pure in conduct. Persevere and walk through the doors G-D opens and hold fast what you have, in order that no one take your crown. Don’t become lukewarm about G-D’s way of life.  Those whom He loves, He reproves and disciplines; be zealous therefore and repent.  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Ekklesia.

The 7 Ekklesia of the Apocalypse Part 1

Introduction

The Book of Revelation, known simply as Revelation or the Apocalypse, is a book of the Newer Covenant that occupies a central place in Christian eschatology. Its title is derived from the first word of the text, written in Koinee Greek: apokalypsis, meaning "unveiling" or "revelation". The Book of Revelation is the only apocalyptic document in the New Testament canon.
The book of Revelation and its prophetic content is the most talked about and often the most controversial topic in the christendom. In as much as many liked it, many detested it also and for others, it is fearsome. The controversy of this book started in the early second century because it was specifically written only to a group of congregations in Asia Minor that do not go well with the rest of the Christian world. Many early congregations (also known as "churches") felt sidelined and thought that the messages in the book was not really meant for them.

As part of a good hermeneutical study, we have to determine the historical background of the first century that provides the political, social, geographical, economic and religious landscape of the time of the writing for us to better understand what is exactly going on.
