Introduction

What does the Bible really say about this end-times? There are many passages pertaining to this topic.  Even the book of Revelation was dedicated to speak about the events on how the apocalyptic event will unfold.  Yeshua, Himself, predicted the end-times in Matthew 24.  As all prophecies are futuristic, our Master mentioned a profound clue as to how these deadly events will come to pass in Matt 24:37-39.

At this point, Yeshua predicted that what leads to the end are things caused the destruction of Noah’s world.

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark; they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Matthew 24:37-38

Introduction

After the culmination of the biblical High Holy Days, the cycle of Parsha reading is once again reset at the beginning of the Torah, Genesis 1:1 to 6:8.

Some notable facts in B’reishit:
1. It covers a span of over 1600 years period
2. It covers seven (7) righteous generations from Adam
3. It covers seven (7) unrighteous generations from Adam
4. All seven (7) righteous generations prior to Noah died already.
5. The Name of HaShem was mentioned 33 times in this Parsha. The number 33 is connected to a promise or the promises of G-D. The 33rd time Noah's name is used in Scripture is when G-D makes a special covenant or promise with him. The Eternal promises to not destroy the entire world again with a flood and seals His pledge with the sign of the rainbow (Genesis 9:12 - 16).
6. There were 24 names mentioned in this Parsha; 12 were righteous and 12 that were not.
7. There are 146 verses in the Parsha of B’reishit and Psalms 146 alludes to it.
And G-D saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
